Seeing God Move

While reflecting today I raised the question to GOD, how have you moved in the last couple years and what can be celebrated through our ministry? We as individuals can be so caught up in the busyness and chaos of our families and schedules especially during the holidays where we can miss what GOD has done in and through us.

Today I am praising the Lord for how he has moved in one specific individual, Ryan. Over the years that Ryan was a part of our Schenectady City Life Jumpoff program, it was held in the neighborhood of Bellevue. He was a student who always showed personality, a competitive edge, and leadership qualities. While he was at Schenectady High School he attended The Police Explorer program which is a career-oriented program that gives young adults the opportunity to explore a career in law enforcement by working with local law enforcement agencies. Ryan graduated last year, and recently I was able to get a chance to bring him to the Boys and Girls Club where he now works. I was really moved to hear that he has been active in his faith with the Lord, reading through scripture in the midst of training to become a Rotterdam firefighter.

The direction and drive that this young man has, has been such an encouragement to me because, the number of kids who strive and pursue their dreams are slim in the inner city. My hope and prayer is that we are able to empower and equip more young men like Ryan to make a lasting impact in our communities and even the world.
