Savannah just made it through the holidays-nothing big or exciting as she went between her mom and dad. She didn’t get much and she’s struggling with getting back into her schoolwork. It’s been a difficult year for her and most students. Savannah is trying to fight against depression and anxiety in many ways. Unfortunately, nothing will be enough to give her peace and joy apart from finding her identity and worth in Jesus.
As I’ve gotten to know Savannah, my heart is saddened to see what she has to struggle with essentially alone. As I hear her story and share mine, including who Jesus is to me, I see her opening up about all the hard things and disappointments, hoping that this might be the answer. She believes in God and Jesus coming to save her, but there is a disconnect in surrendering completely to him. She would have to believe enough to pursue Jesus through his word on her own and let go of everything else.
In Matthew 7:13-14 Jesus said, “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the read that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”
At Youth For Christ, we keep sharing and showing the hope of Jesus. Your support and prayers are what helps to reach and breakthrough in the lives of lost teens. Thank you for your continued prayers and support.
