Meet Andy. We first met Andy a couple of years ago at Cambridge Campus Life. Andy is full of energy and always has a smile on his face. He will do anything to get a laugh and work up a crowd. A few months back I shared my testimony with the group and he wanted to share his. The next week I gave him the floor to do so.
We found out a lot about Andy’s Story, and by the end, there was barely a dry eye in the room. He began telling us of his family situation and the lack of contact with his biological father and the reasons why. There are many that attend Campus Life that come from difficult family backgrounds. Andy was adopted not long ago and has a good relationship with the man who has raised him along with his mother. He began telling us of his life in the last few years and his struggles that brought him to a state of depression.
You would never have known that he was struggling with anything in his life. He hid it very well behind the vices of humor and food to deal with the depression he was feeling as sin had begun to run rampant and unchecked in his heart and life. He told us of other things he had done that he was not proud of with the hopes that that others listening could learn from his past experiences.
Last years Topic at YFC Campus Life was “breakthrough moments”. I am so glad that Andy’s Story did not end in his depression; he recommitted himself to the Lord and told us of his journey back. We at Cambridge Campus Life have had the honor and privilege of seeing Andy every week and know God is far from done with him and we continue to see changes in him. He ended his testimony by stating he was looking forward to going and seeing his Biological father over the summer and share Christ with him. Please continue to pray for Andy that he remains strong in his faith.
