“At that time Joshua spoke to the Lord in the day when the Lord gave the Amorites over to the sons of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, “Sun, stand still at Gibeon, and moon, in the Valley of Aijalon.” And the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, until the nation took vengeance on their enemies.” – Joshua 10:12-13
As I read the account of Joshua as he battled the Amorites I am in awe of his boldness as he sought the Lord for the seemingly impossible. I imagine the look on the faces of the Israelites as he asked God to make the sun stand still. I am sure they were saying amongst themselves, “what did he just say?” However, as much as they were stunned at the request, I imagine they were equally stunned if not more when the Lord did the very thing Joshua asked.
That’s the kind of ministry and the kind of people I want us to be at Capital District Youth For Christ. I want to go before the throne of God with jaw dropping requests. I want us to be asking for the impossible when it comes to the provision of this ministry and even more, I want us to be asking the impossible when it comes to the salvation of thousands of kids in the capital region.
Jesus has given us authority in His name so let us boldly go before the throne of God with jaw dropping prayers and let us rejoice together when our God meets our needs and answers our prayers in amazing ways.
