Meet Tim

I would like to tell you about a student named Tim. Tim has been coming to Schenectady City Life for about four years. Tim’s father left his mother and siblings when he was young and Tim has not seen him since. It’s been tough for Tim at home as his mother has to work multiple jobs to keep the bills paid and food on the table. Also growing up without his father around has been tough because he doesn’t have people in his life teaching him about being a man and being responsible. When Tim first began to come to City Life, he told me that he gets below average grades in school. He told me the reason for this was basically because he just did not care and would rather spend time hanging out with friends instead of being at school. This troubled me because I thought that he had so much potential to be much more than that, to be a leader.

Since Tim first started coming to City Life, things have changed for the better. His grades have improved, and he is not getting into trouble like he used to. Tim is also a faithful City Life attendee. I’ve talked with Tim about why he comes to City Life, and he told me it’s because he has great relationships with the leaders and that he enjoys playing basketball and being somewhere safe. Although Tim’s story isn’t over, I consider it a privilege and honor to be able to walk with Tim on his journey and share Christ’s love with him. Tim is an amazing young man that I believe will do great things for the Lord as he continues to grow up.

Please continue to pray for the Schenectady City Life ministry and for Tim and other students like him!
